Job Summary

As an Accountant at IA Construction, you will be responsible for performing general, cost, or sub-ledger accounting activities within a defined scope. This position reports directly to the Regional Controller.

Main Responsibilities

  • Month-End Financial Review: Prepare journal entries and review month-end financials for accuracy.
  • Adjusting Entries: Process adjusting entries and reclassifications as needed or as directed by the Controller and Plant Managers.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory transactions, update general ledgers, gather and analyze data, and conduct audits and assessments for multiple asphalt and aggregate plant business units.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and reconcile financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, invoices, and other documents.
  • Data Management: Assist with research, data entry, and the recording and maintenance of accurate and complete financial records.
  • Support Functions: Assist with accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), job costing, and payroll duties.
  • Audit Assistance: Aid in fulfilling audit requests.
  • Ad Hoc Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller.

Education

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong ability to tackle problems and analyze complex situations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proven experience with Microsoft Office products, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: Highly detail-oriented and meticulous in work.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and teambuilding skills, enabling effective collaboration within the team.
