Position Overview:

Join the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) as an Attorney-Adviser (General) and make a significant impact within the Department of Defense. This role offers the opportunity to provide legal counsel and representation on acquisition, contract administration, and employment matters. Positions are available at two locations: Columbus, OH, and Warren, MI.


Key Duties:

- Provide legal advice and representation to detachment management and contracting officials on acquisition and contract administration matters.

- Offer counsel on contract formation, including contract authority, commercial items, source selection, pricing, and fiscal law.

- Represent clients on contract administration issues such as changes, performance, terminations, and contract litigation.

- Advise on civilian labor and employment matters, ethics, fraud, and technical data.

- Provide legal representation before various tribunals including the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.


Requirements:

- Possession of a first professional law degree (LL.B. or J.D.).

- Active membership in good standing with the bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia.

- Professional legal experience exceeding 2 years for GS-13 level and exceeding 3 years for GS-14 level, relevant to the duties of the position.

- Demonstrated analytical and legal abilities, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in procurement and labor/employment law.

- Must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
