Job Details
We are seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join our dynamic legal team. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for handling complex litigation cases and representing plaintiffs in legal proceedings. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on Jones Act cases.
Responsibilities:
- Handle all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and attending court hearings and trials
- Represent plaintiffs in MVA, premises and other PI causes
- Conduct legal research and provide legal advice to clients
- Manage a caseload and ensure all deadlines are met
- Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution methods
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to ensure the best possible outcome for clients
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on Personal Injury a plus
- Admitted to practice law in the state where the position is located
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines
- Experience in maritime law is a plus
